Days 7 and 8 of 29 gifts

Namely Wed & Thur 5 and 6 May. Wow, don't days whistle by? My gift yesterday was (thinks quickly) an hour spent coaching and aiming to support and inspire a young man to build team and leadership in his not-for-profit, which supports poor kids in the Philippines. What an inspiration HE is! My gifts today, so far, are (i) to send my friend Aidan my 'skinny speech' (about how I lost 12kg and how well it's made me) and (ii) to return a library book to Sydney College of the Arts for Kerry, who is overseas. Wow, what a gift to me to wander round the SCA for half an hour and see some of its superb architecture and exhibitions.

  1. More than hanging in, Mike, enjoying the focus.
Today more house gifts - shifting the timber from our basement to a spot down the hill out back (to avoid the risk of termite invasion - and renovating our compost area: new tarp & sturdy timber holding it down instead of crappy buckets of rocks.
Yesterday's gift was the creation of a delicious chicken corn soup which suited a chilly 8 degree night.
And, the day before? The gift of teaching, to the students or me, I'm not sure.

  2. Gifts from Friday for the household - I dusted and tidied up our floor-to-ceiling bookcase used by the Hollingworths, Bolstlers, and Weinsteins. I also cleared all the timber out of our basement workshop so there now is a clear passageway and lots of room for storage. Satisfying, and really hard physical work shifting the timber down the hill outdoors. Less risk of termites finding tasty fare in our beautiful new house.
